From time to time our when you use Windows you wish you could tweak some settings for faster performance or if you could turn some features and services that you don’t need. You usually google some tips and tricks on how to do it, but sometime you unintentionally catch viruses while downloading some tools from unverified sources. So shall we start?
5. TweakNow PowerPack 2010
The program size is 6.5MB when downloaded and 24.1MB when installed, but the options it has make up for the space used on disk. It’s rich in options which allow you to tweak nearly everything in Windows. One of the good things about this tweaker is that it also works on older systems like Vista and XP. This tool is really All in One tool. You have option to clean junk, registry,to use virtual desktop, to view the Operating system info as well the info about the hardware pieces you are currently using. Although I noticed that some motherboards and processors models won’t show up on main Window, but if you select the sub-option it displays it normally. It even allows you to edit context editor, view processes started at the boot, view currently running processes, add OEM info,as well to disable some applets and control panel options if you aren’t the only one using that PC. One of the best feature here is the option to add password to protect the program from unauthorized usage. It’s one of the most comprehensive tweaking and optimizing applications that I have ever seen. Plus it’s fancy

4. GIGATweaker
If you ever used TuneUP and its tweaker module, then you will gonna love this program. Coming with only 1.9MB of size this program when installed allows you to make system restore before making any change right upon opening application. The two interesting features I found are the console feature and the assistant feature. The console feature allows you to see changes made to the registry when you select some of the options in the application. It shows you the path to the registry key that was effected by the change you made. The Assistant feature is the bubble which appears in taskbar, telling you what the selected change does to the system and if it’s not or if it is recommended to apply. The author of the program has his own music channel on Last.fm.
